Fellow Scholarly Activity Funding Process
Eligibility
In an effort to promote scholarly activity among all Internal Medicine fellowships, funding has been established for reimbursement of costs incurred by fellows in these activities. Fellows may apply to be considered for reimbursement of up to $750 for scholarly activity.
All application materials will be submitted to a committee of 5 fellowship program directors who will decide if and to what extent reimbursement will be granted on a case by case basis.
To be eligible for funding, fellows must have submitted an abstract or clinical vignette for presentation at a national/ regional/ state meeting and have prior approval of their program director.
Funds are limited, so not all applicants will be approved. The committee will make final decisions on funding.
Form of Submission
All applicants must submit the online form, Fellow Request for Scholarly Activity Funding, and submit an electronic copy of their abstract to Gizella Jarrell. Detailed information regarding projected travel costs must be provided on this form.
All forms and abstracts must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the conference date. After the committee has had time to review the request and the abstract and address any questions that arise, fellows will be sent notification regarding approval or denial via email.
If funding is approved, separate forms and receipts will be required for reimbursement, instructions for reimbursement will be sent with notification.
